St Margaret's School for Girls is an independent day school for girls in Aberdeen, Scotland. Founded in 1846, it is the oldest continuously operating girls' school in Scotland. The ''Good Schools Guide'' describes St Margaret's as a "jolly nice old fashioned school with proper values and the best of modern teaching methods."〔(Profile ) on the Good Schools Guide〕 It is a member of the Scottish Council of Independent Schools (SCIS), Girls' Schools Association and Queen Margaret of Scotland Girls' Schools Association. ==History== St Margaret's was founded in 1846 and named after Queen Margaret. The nursery school for ages 3 to 5, known as The Daffodil Nursery, opened in 1937 and is coeducational. Since the nearby Albyn School went coeducational in 2005, St Margaret's is the only remaining school in the North of Scotland that caters exclusively to girls' primary and secondary education.
